APP FEATURE: ONEOffice helps boost productivity at HY M&E Consultancy
When Mr. Ho See Fong was looking to make his business more efficient and more accessible online; he found a solution that combined the two perfectly.
Singtel's ONEOffice - a suite of collaboration tools that run from a web browser. A professional engineer at HY M&E Consultancy Services Pte. Ltd., he and his staff are charged with providing mechanical and electrical consultancy services to building and facility developers.
With the myriad of services they offer, such as mechanical and electrical systems planning and design, applications of technology and contract and project management; finding an office management solution that could help the staff communicate more effectively, both internally and to their potential customers, was important.

They now have a web presence, easily managed by internal staff through the ONEOffice system. "This is crucial in today's marketplace" explains Mr. Ho. "Now we are searchable on the Internet, and it gives us a place to showcase our services and past accolades."
Internal communication was also bolstered with ONEOffice. Mr. Ho is adamant on this point, "Our knowledge sharing has been facilitated by the creation of Intranet sites. Now memos are easily updated on the Intranet to inform staff of the latest events and changes. Plus, being a cloud solution, our employees can do their job anytime, anywhere, with any device. I would say productivity has been boosted by 20%."
Mr. Ho is particularly happy to be moving to the cloud. Previously, their office was heavily dependent on paper processes, to the extent that staffs were using a large hard copy calendar to mark down their schedules. Designers were having problems sending high resolution images (which could go up to 10MB per file) and the documenting and archiving of files was out of control.
"All that has changed now" smiles Mr. Ho. "Can you imagine our staff of 20 were using a single email account! Now with the introduction of ONEOffice every staff has an email account and their own calendar which is shared on the network."
And the best part, "The short learning curve" intones Mr. Ho. "The system was easy to implement and even easier for the staff to learn. Because ONEOffice is so user friendly, now our designers can easily share large files across many devices. And the Calendar function means everybody is on the same page."
So what's next for HY M&E? "We look forward to more innovation and cloud-based computing facilities that will even further boost our productivity and allow us to offer new business services for our clients."
