1. Getting started^

Before you transfer the content of your existing website to the new website, let me give you a brief introduction.

As you can see from the screenshots above, the look-and-feel and structure of any existing website will be different from the Web Builder.

2. Preparation^

There are some preparations to be done on the Web Builder before you transfer the content.

2.1 Recreating main pages (sections)

2.1.1 Creating sections

Sections are the main pages on your website and they appear on the navigation menu of your website.

2.1.1.1 Creating the navigation menu

Click the green +/- button on the navigation menu to add a section.

Type the section title and click "OK".

2.1.1.2 Rearranging the sections on the navigation menu

Click the blue arrows on the navigation menu to arrange the sections.

2.2 Create subpages^

Subpages are pages within a section.

1. To create subpages, click the green +/- button that is designated to create subpages. The button for subpages is located between the sidebars.

3. Click 'OK' to create the subpage.

4. To arrange the sequence of the subpages, rename or delete a subpage, click the corresponding icons.

2.3 Changing a page title^

1. Navigate to the web page.

2. To change the title of the page, activate the cursor by clicking the title located in the block of content.

3. Refresh the page.

2.4 Uploading documents/images^

Download all the images/documents from your existing website and upload them onto the Web Builder.

1. Click the Edit icon on the dashboard. A set of sub tools will be displayed on the left side of the dashboard.

2. Click the Files icon on the left side of the dashboard to access the Files Manager. Click 'Upload' to upload your files.

3. Alternatively, you can click the Add Folder icon to create folders to categorise your files before uploading.

4. After which, click the Upload icon to upload your files from your computer.

5. Choose the files you want to upload and click 'Submit'.

The website supports over 30 file types, including Microsoft office documents and zip folders.

If you have over 50 images or files to upload, you can transfer them into a zipped folder and upload onto the website.

3. Transferring Website Content^

After you have created the main web pages and subpages on the Web Builder, you are ready to transfer the content.

3.1 Transfering content to a main web page/ subpage

To remove any unwanted formatting, it is best to transfer the web content to Notepad (Windows user) or Text Wrangler (Macintosh user).

And then transfer the content from Notepad/Text Wrangler to an empty block of content in the main web page of Web Builder. Note: Do remember to refresh the page or go to another webpage within the website to save the contents.

3.2 Editing and restructuring the website content^

Turn on the Rich-text Editor to edit the text and restructure the website content.

On the right side of the Dashboard, click the Edit icon and then click the Format icon on the right side of the Dashboard to enable to the Rich-text Editor.

4. Inserting images/documents^

Transferring of images or documents from your existing website to the Web Builder using the copy and paste method is not advisable. Therefore, it is important to upload images or documents to the Web Builder before you can insert them in your web pages.

Drag-and-drop the images/documents to the block of content.

6. Customising your website^

Now that you have already transferred the content to the new website, you can use the tools of the Web Builder to personalise and enhance the appearance of your website.

6.1 Choosing layout styles

There are 6 layout styles to present your content.

On the right side of the Dashboard, Click the Layout icon to choose the different layouts for each webpage.

Choose the different layout templates for each webpage.

6.2 Selecting design templates

Website style is the basic layout and design of the website. There are more than 70 different style templates that you can choose from.

To select a design template for your website, click the Themes icon on the dashboard, select a category and choose a design. Click one to preview and apply the design.

1. Click the Edit icon on the dashboard.

2. Next, click the Masthead icon to start inserting the company logo and name in Masthead 1, and banner in Masthead 2.

3. From your files, you can drag-and-drop the image into the masthead.

Note: The dimension for the banner shall be kept within 1000px by 20px, whereas the dimension for the company logo shall be kept within 200px.

6.4 Inserting feature-rich applications

1. To insert built-in applications, simply click the Apps icon on the dashboard to display all the applications on the left side of the dashboard.

2. Drag and insert the application icons into an empty space in the block of content.

3. To access the Settings of each application, mouse over it to display the tool.

Note: Do remember to refresh the page or go to another webpage within the website to save the content.
